국제적으로 통용되는 메이저 통화를 주로 다루기 때문에
원화를 받지 않는 경우가 많죠.
그래서, 베트남 현지에서 원화를 받아주는 은행은
한국계 신한은행 뿐이에요.ㅜㅜ
그래도 이게 어딘가요??
급할 때 원화를 빠르게 동화로
바꿀 수 있다는
사실만으로도
기쁩니다요^^

Most local banks in Vietnam mainly deal with major international currencies like
the US Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), and Japanese Yen (JPY),
so they often don’t accept Korean Won (KRW).
That’s why Shinhan Bank, a Korean bank,
is the only one that accepts KRW in Vietnam. 😢
But hey, at least there’s somewhere to exchange it, right?
It’s such a relief to know
I can quickly exchange KRW to VND when I need it most! 😄
Today, I’m going to share my experience exchanging
Korean Won → Vietnamese Dong! 💸✨
사실... 아이들이 한국에서 엄마 카드로 이것저것 신나게 쓰고,
그 대신 받은 용돈인데요. 🤭 (뭔가 엄마한테 빚 갚는 느낌? ㅋㅋ)
이걸 현지에서 베트남 동으로 바꿔서 생활비에
보태고자 하는
엄마의 빅 피쳐?!!
Actually... the kids had a blast in Korea, happily spending with mom’s card,
and in return, they brought back some pocket money.
🤭 (Kind of feels like they’re paying off their debt to mom? LOL)
Now, here I am, planning to exchange it into
Vietnamese Dong to help cover some living expenses —
a mom’s big picture plan, right?!! 😆💸
근데 이곳 베트남 신한은행에서 몇 번 원화 환전을 해 본 결과
엄청 꼼꼼히 검사하고 햇볕에 비춰보고 (위조지폐 확인?)
정말 그걸 지켜보고 있노라면,,,,,
잘못이 없어도 뭔가 떨리는,, 그런 기분을
느낄 수 있답니다.ㅋㅋ
그래서 자체 검사를 꼼꼼히 하고 통과한
지폐만 가져간다는,,,,ㅋ
그럼에도 불구하고 30~40%는
빠꾸(?!) 맞았던 적이 있었더랬죠~
겉으로 멀쩡해 보여서,,
다음날 모른척하고 다시 가져갔더니?
너 똑같은 지폐로 또 왔네 하더라고요..ㅋㅋ

한번 퇴짜 맞으면 다시 시도 안 해요~~
After exchanging Korean Won a few times
at Shinhan Bank here in Vietnam,
I realized just how thorough they are. They check each bill carefully,
hold it up to the sunlight (to check for counterfeits, I guess?).
Watching them inspect the bills like that...
even when you know there’s nothing wrong,
you still get that nervous feeling. 😅😂
That’s why I started doing my own “quality check”
before heading to the bank — only taking the crisp,
flawless bills that pass my inspection. 😎💸
But still… about 30-40% of the bills got rejected. 😭
They looked totally fine to me,
so I tried bringing them back the next day, hoping they wouldn’t notice.
But guess what?
The teller looked at me and said,
“Oh, you’re back with the same bills!” 😳😂
Ahh… so embarrassing! Since then,
I never try again after a rejection. One “no” is enough for me! 🙈💔

빳빳해져라.. 빳빳해져라,,,,,
헌 돈도 새 돈 같아져라,,,,,,,
This isn’t why I bought that encyclopedia... 😭

hoping they’d magically turn into fresh, flawless notes. 😂💸

Like, seriously rough! Crumpled, torn,
folded— you name it.
So, while I was already using the encyclopedia
and iron for my KRW bills…
I thought, “Why not give these poor VND bills
some love too?” 😆✨
Press, iron, repeat... 💪🔥

사이사이에 넣는 게 더 빳빳해져요
Actually, slipping the bills between the pages works way
better than just pressing them under the book! 😆✨
Tucking them neatly into the bookmarks between
the pages gives them that extra crispness. 💸📖
It’s like giving the bills a proper spa treatment
— straight from crumpled to flawless! 😂💆♀️
퇴짜 맞는 돈 하나없이 빳빳하게 하기 위해
살짝 물을 뿌려봤어요~(헉 사진 찍으려고 너무 많이 뿌려버린::)
예전에 많은 돈을 툇자 맞았을 때
남편이 물을 좀 뿌려서 다리라고..?!! ㅋㅋㅋ
근데,,, 더 쪼글 해졌던 기억이::
완전 덤 앤 더머(?!)ㅋㅋㅋ
접힌 부분에는 유용한데, 멀쩡한 부분까지 다시 쪼글 해 질 수 있어요.^^
To make sure every single bill was crisp and perfect
— with no chance of rejection — I decided to lightly spray some water on them.
💦 (Well… I meant to spray lightly,
but I got a bit carried away while taking photos. Oops! 😅)
I remembered the time when a bunch of bills got rejected,
and my husband suggested,
“Maybe try spraying some water and ironing them?” 🤔😂
Let’s just say... it didn’t go as planned. The bills ended up even more wrinkled! 😭
Total Dumb and Dumber moment! 🤦♀️🤣
💡 Pro tip: Spraying water helps for deep creases,
but if you’re not careful,
the perfectly fine parts can end up all crinkly again! 😆

Then, of course, I placed them back under
the encyclopedia for the final touch. 📚😂
It felt like an endless cycle of trial and error… total overkill. 🙈💦
But hey, the result? 💸✨
A HUGE SUCCESS! The bills came out
super crisp — mission accomplished! 😆🎉
